Dean Allen Elementary

My name is Gary Prince, the lucky person to preside as the principal of such a great school. Welcome to Dean Allen Elementary School home of the Mighty Mustangs, a state designation of a High Achieving school, and approximately 750 of the finest students in the Clark County School District and definitely the greatest teachers and staff as well!

I was born and raised in New Harmony, Utah, a thriving metropolis of 98 people in Southern Utah.  I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Southern Utah State College, now Southern Utah University at Cedar City, Utah.  I received my Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (U.N.L.V) and my administrative credentials from Nova Southeastern University here in Las Vegas.  I am married to a beautiful girl from London, England, and we have five children, four boys and a girl.

Mr. Gary Prince

You have selected a wonderful school to attend.  As stated above, Dean Allen was recently awarded the state designation of High Achieving, the second highest rating available from the state.  Our next step is to become an Exemplary School.  Together, with your help and the fine staff that we have, I feel that this can be done.

We have many wonderful activities going on here at Dean Allen to reinforce your child’s education.  My favorite activity that I do each month is the Principal’s Award Luncheon.  Students are recommended for this great honor and then their names are randomly selected and are invited to have lunch with me.  I usually cook hamburgers on the grill or if the weather is not friendly, I have pizza delivered.  Teachers are also doing many wonderful things within their classrooms to make your child’s education fun and exciting.  Other ways that we recognize your child’s efforts is the Honor Roll assemblies held each year. Students in grades three through five have the opportunity to receive trophies purchased by our wonderful PTO organization for the A and AB honor Roll.  Students K-2 receive recognition on the bulletin board.

I hope that you enjoy your experience at Dean Allen Elementary School.  We encourage you to come and help out in your child’s classroom, get involved with PTO, and just be a friendly face on campus.  Welcome!

I’ve been a part of the Dean Allen community for the past five years, all which have been fulfilling in so many ways. I feel very fortunate to work with such fantastic teachers, students, and families every day. I am proud of our school’s many accomplishments and our continued improvement to meet the needs of each child we serve. My favorite part of my job is being in the classroom with students and watching the excitement of learning in action! I work very hard at knowing every student by name, and I’ve got just a few more to learn before I know nearly 700 students!

Prior to joining the Clark County School District in 2003, I served in public school districts in North Carolina, Florida, and California where I taught elementary and special education, coordinated teacher training programs, and served in district administration.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Vanderbilt University. I earned my Master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, and my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 2004.

My pride and joy are my two beautiful children, Chloe and Kaden. My husband, Chris, and I are both natives of Lexington, Kentucky, where our parents still live. We make it back home for the Kentucky Derby each Spring. Our family loves to play at the park, travel to the beach, and of course, visit Disneyland with the kids.
