Dean Allen Elementary

Library Policy:

Reading is the key ingredient to your child's education. To enhance this important academic skill, each student at Dean Allen Elementary School has a 50-minute period a week in the library. Students will be involved in various types of literature, study skills, computer technology skills and will learn library skills.

Students and parents need to be responsible for library books. The Clark County School District regulation reads as follows:
Students and their parents or guardians shall be responsible for all damage to or loss of textbooks, library books, or other materials, equipment or school property loaned to or used by the student and shall reimburse the Clark County School District for such loss or damamge.

At Dean Allen, books may be checked out once per day. Students may check out the equivalent of their grade level plus one book. All books have a one-week check out period. Books may be renewed or returned anytime.

One of Dean Allen's top software programs is Accelerated Reader (AR), which is a comprehensive reading program. Students obtain grade-level goals to earn rewards with AR. We inspire all of our students to strive for the highest level reward, The Adventure Party!

Be sure to check back soon for more information on library events and happenings.
