Facebook Apps
By: Natalie Netherton, Staff Writer
Facebook has become a worldwide social networking site with more than 300 million users. Not only are they chatting with their friends, but many users have become FarmVille and Fishville fans. Facebook is known for their applications such as YoVille, Mafia Wars, Bejeweled Blitz, Pet Society, etc. Not many people have heard of these games, but the ones who have are practically glued to it.

While playing FarmVille, you need to plant seeds, plow the land, harvest them, and even buy stuff for it; not only that, but you can expand your farm too. Depending on how many points you have you can go to the next level. You gain coins by plowing the fruit/vegetables that you grew. Different seeds take a different amount of time to grow, so make sure you come back and water your plants so they don’t wilt away. Sophomore Chelsey Shauct stated, “I love FarmVille, it keeps me busy when I have nothing to do at home, and I love the fact that I can play it with my friends. They help me keep my farm up and running.”
FarmVille has become very popular these days. You see many people talking about it and even requesting for help with their farm. “I’d have to say I am very much addicted to this game.”
FishVille is another one of Facebook’s “popular” games. It is very much like FarmVille, but underwater. You buy any fish you would like, as long as you have enough coins or sand dollars to buy them, and you can also buy decorations to put around your tank. Junior Kasey Marshall said, “FishVille is one of my all time favorite games to play, but it can be irritating too.”

When you buy the fish, it will tell you when you should come back to feed it; if you don’t come back in that timeframe the fish are more than likely to die. So don’t be surprised if you come back and there are five fish floating at the top of the tank. “I hate coming back and having to see my fish at the top of the tank belly up, it gets me mad because I used my own coins to pay for them”
When you’re sitting at home with nothing to do, create a Facebook and play one of the many applications they have. Chances are, you’ll love the game.

Aly's World |

The World as only Aly sees it...
When you listen to a song by Taylor Swift you can’t help yourself from wandering to that guy who holds your heart, or the one who once broke it. It’s crazy how I can sit with a group of friends and they can compare a current or past relationship to one of Swift's songs. It’s odd how Taylor is so beautiful, but majority of her songs are about how poorly boys have treated her.
“Should’ve Said No”, “White Horse” and “You’re Not Sorry” are prime examples of songs that Swift has written that display some of the terrible relationships she may have been through; each of these songs find some way to fit into many teenage girls ‘poopy diapers ‘ playlist, with each note, and each word sets the thoughts free of your average “Cory”,”Drew”, or “Steven”. Every story has a song, but Taylor has a way of bringing her lyrics to fit the life of every teenager.

Neon Boneyard
By: Brianne Ruddy, E.I.C
It is difficult to find attractions that are not just limited to 21 year olds and up. Fortunately, “The Boneyard” which is part of the Neon Museum at YESCO’S production lot, is open to all ages. This historical attraction is home to Vegas’s world famous signs that were once part of the Strip. There are over 150 historic, non-restored signs that reside on the lot. They now rest in the Boneyard where tourists can view them up close and personal. You can enjoy the Neon Boneyard for only a small price as a donation in order to keep it up and running. The Boneyard will be closed up until the summer due to renovation of the lot. It will reopen with a few more signs added and an overall better atmosphere with benches, picnic tables, and informational kiosks. Look for the reopening of the modified Neon Boneyard in the summer. Take a trip down memory lane; don’t miss out.
