Attendance Policy:
Students who have been absent must provide notice from the parent/guardian to the school explaining the reason for the absence within 3 school days after their return. If an acceptable explanation of an absence is not provided, the absence is unexcused and, in accordance with NRS 392.130, is deemed a truancy. An excused absence still counts as an absence. An excused absence simply signifies there was a reason given for the absence. According to CCSD policy, only 20 absences, per school year, are permitted.


Pre-arranged Absence Policy:
CCSD School Attendance policy states, Parents/Guardians must submit a written request to the school prior to the absence(s) and the maximum number of pre-arranged absences is 10 per school year. Any pre-arranged absence(s) after 10 will be marked unexcused. A pre-arranged absence still counts as an absence. A pre-arranged absence simply signifies that a reason was given for the absence.
