The Clark County School District adopted the Scott Foresman enVision Math series for the fall of 2008. Over 80% of our district will be using this series. Beatty Elementary will leave behind Saxon Math and transition into enVision. Here are some of the highlights of this new series:
-
Kindergarten, first, and second grade lessons are on full-color, consumable newspapers.
-
Third, fourth, and fifth grade students work from a full-color textbook.
-
All lessons have a "visual learning bridge" across the top of the page that details the thinking process of the lesson.
-
Nevada math standards are printed on each lesson.
-
All lessons are available online. Students are issued user IDs and passwords to access the online components of enVision math.
-
Daily center activities reinforce concept skills and provide an opportunity for differentiated instruction.
-
Daily spiral reviews help maintain skills and concepts over time.
-
Daily quick assessments provide immediate feedback to teachers and students.
-
Extensive vocabulary development helps prepare students for state and standardized tests.
