I am pleased that you came to visit the Will Beckley Elementary School web site! This web site was designed particularly for the students, parents and teachers in our school community. We have designed this site to be family friendly. Our hope is that this web site will be another important way that we can let you know what is happening at Beckley as we work together during the 2008-2009 School year. Please take some time to look at our various pages of information. The resources found here will help you know more about school policies, plans and the calendar of events.

Let me take a moment and share with you a little about myself. I have been an educator for twenty-one years and my experiences have included primary age, intermediate age, middle school, and high school students, as well as working with students who have special needs. I am originally from Ft. Collins, Colorado, but after twenty some years in Nevada, I am pleased say I am a “Las Vegan”. I have two children (Jessica and Aaron), as well as a dog, Sam, who knows sign language!

I envision learning to be like climbing a Colorado mountain. The higher you go, the more you can see of the world below you and the more beautiful is the view. This year, I see our school working as an entire community to increase student achievement. While we did not make AYP this past year, it is clear to us that we are close meeting this goal as determined by the state criteria. Our students are awesome! They seek knowledge, experiences, and have such a vast capacity to learn and grow. You, as parents, can help their education by ensuring they attend school every day, on time and rested!

Please feel free to contact me or your child's teacher should you have concerns or questions related to your child's education. I know that the work we do together can have lasting impact in the life of your child and the entire student body.
