Assistant Principal-Bridget Leatherman

Teaching and working with students is my passion. I also love spending time with my husband and three sons. My son, Hunter is five, and Parker is three, and Trevor was just born in September. Being a mother is also very rewarding.
I am originally from Buffalo, NY. I earned my BA from Canisius College in Elementary Education. I moved to Las Vegas to teach eleven years ago.
I graduated form UNLV with my Master's in Educational Leadership. I was a Literacy Specialist for several years. It was in this position that I enhanced my knowledge in teaching reading. I also worked as a Project Facilitator in the district's Literacy department with the Curriculum and Professional Development Division for three years.
After my experiences in researching literacy, developing curriculum, and training teachers, I was eager to get back to a school to share my experiences with staff, students, and parents.  I was the Assistant Principal at Bilbray from January 2005 to August 2006.  It is such a pleasure working as a principal in such a wonderful and supportive community.

 

   My name is Bridget Leatherman and I am honored to be the Assistant Principal at Bilbray Elementary School.  It is such a pleasure working with all of the students and teachers at Bilbray.
 
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from West
Chester University (located outside of Philadelphia) and earned my master’s degree in Administration and Leadership, from University of
Phoenix.  I moved to Las Vegas ten years ago from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to teach 4th grade.  Working in this school district, I feel very fortunate to have had the experiences and memories that have made a difference in my life.

When I am not working, I enjoy playing volleyball and spending time with my husband, Tim, and 2 daughters, Jasmine and Isabella. My favorite time of the year is football season! GO STEELERS! I am so grateful that I am able to be part of this wonderful Bilbray community.
