Blue Diamond Elementary is located in the town of Blue Diamond.

Blue Diamond is an historic mining town that was formed as a corporation in the late 1800s by investors in the Los Angeles area. Prospectors came across a gypsum deposit in the hills 23 miles southwest of Las Vegas during this time period. It turned out that the gypsum they found was of high quality. Realizing that mining/ quarrying would soon be developed, those investors came up with the name "Blue Diamond", designating "high quality rock".
