Ms. Milana Winter

Ms. Milana Winter was born in Saint Joe, Missouri, and graduated from Hiawatha High School in Hiawatha, Kansas.  In July of 1982, Ms Winter attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where she earned her Bachelors of Science degree and Master of Education degree in School Guidance and Counseling.  In 1995, Ms Winter received her K-12 Administration Endorsement from East Central University and University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Ms. Winter began her career in education at Ada Middle school, Ada Oklahoma where she taught in the Gifted and Talented Education Program as well as 6th grade science and 7th reading.   Ms Winter moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in August 1991, where she continued her career in education at Robison Middle School as a Counselor for two years, and Dean of Students for two and one-half years   From January1997 to February 2001, Ms. Winter served as Assistant Principal at K. O. Knudson Middle School, where she was instrumental in facilitating the opening of the Creative Arts and Language Magnet Program.  In February 2001, Ms. Winter served as assistant Principal where she played an active role in the opening of Monaco Middle School.  After leaving Monaco Middle School, Ms Winter was appointed as Principal of Jim Bridger Middle School until August of 2008.  Currently Ms Winter serves as Principal of Canyon Springs High School and the Leadership and Law Preparatory Academy.

 

   

Mr. Ike White

Mr. White has been an assistant principal at Canyon Springs High School since its opening in 2004. He has worked in administrative positions in a number of CCSD schools including Eldorado High School, and Rancho High School, his alma mater.

   


Ms. Arla Simmons
Assistant Principal

Ms. Simmons began her career with the Clark County School District thirteen years ago after graduating with high honors from UNLV. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 1995. Ms. Simmons came to Canyon Springs High School and the Leadership and Law Preparatory Academy in July of 2004 as a dean of students. She was promoted to assistant principal in the spring of 2007.

   

Ms. Rania Pierre
Dean of Students

Ms. Pierre earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from C.W. Post Long Island University In 1998. She began her teaching career at Uniondale High School in NY, where she taught physical science and biology.  She earned her Master of Science degree in Biology education from C.W Post LIU in 2002.

Ms. Pierre moved to Clark County in 2004 where she taught biology here at Canyon Springs.  She earned her Masters in Curriculum and Administration from the University of Phoenix In 2006, and in 2007 she was promoted to Dean of Students at Canyon Springs High School.

   

Mr. Dean Gentuso
Dean of Students

Mr. Gentuso has a Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix in educational leadership. He attended Indiana University at Bloomington from 1978 thru 1981, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Mr. Gentuso is an avid basketball fan and attended all the Indiana Hoosiers’ home games while in college, including the NIT and NCAA championship years in 1979 and 1981.

Before accepting his current position at Canyon Springs, Mr. Gentuso taught business, math, and driver’s education at Spring Valley and Palo Verde High Schools. Mr. Gentuso lived in Chicago most of his life where he owned and operated an auto repair business.
