Institute for Integrated Studies at Desert Pines High School offers schools within a school concept.

As a result of the integration of multiple schools, students are offered the option to enroll in the International Institute; the Magnet Institute, consisting of the Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) and Academy of 21st Century Communication (AOC); or at the Desert Pines Institute, which offers classes on a flexible schedule throughout the day.

Additionally, the school has a full compliment of Interscholastic Athletic Programs and sponsors over 45 clubs and activities for students. Desert Pines is a school of diversity with over 150 teachers and 3200 students of which 88% are minorities and 64% qualify for the federal, free and reduced lunch program.
