John A. Dooley
John Dooley was known as an educational leader, scholar and humanitarian to all who knew him.
 
When John was a child he always loved to teach and understand people. As he went through his school days, he tutored and loved to help all people. In his high school days, he decided to pick up teaching as a career.
John went to Harvard and Stanford Universities. After he went through college, he started teaching in Montana. He taught there for a number of years. Then he decided to move to Henderson, Nv where he was hired to be a principal by Lyal Burkholder. John was the principal at Basic High School for 20 years.
When he passed away in 1985, they built John A. Dooley Elementary School as a tribute to a great educational leader of the Clark County School District.
