Spring Matinee 2009

The sixteenth annual Gilbert Spring Matinee Performances took place in the Gilbert Magnet School Eshelman Theatre on Saturday, May 30, 2009.  The Kindergarten students performed "Let's Go to the Jungle" by Judy Murray.  The first grade students performed "Once Upon a Lily Pad" adapted from the play written by Mary Donnelly and George I. D. Strid.  The second grade students performed "A House for Hermit Crab" adapted by Judy Murray from the book by Eric Carle.  The Gilbert Magnet School Choir, directed by Kay Lehto and Ginny Beall and accompanied by Eddie Birch, sang a varied musical program which also included performances by our instrument and drum groups.  The third grade students performed "Frog Belly Rat Bone" adapted by Theresa Hubbard from the book by Timothy Basil Ering.  The fourth grade students performed "I Need A Vacation", adapted by Judy Murray from the book by Mac Huff and John Jacobson. The fifth grade students performed "We Haz Jazz"   by John Jacobson and Kirby Shaw.
