About Dr. Zaki
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Dr. Salwa Zaki has been the principal at Frank Kim ES since January 2004. She thoroughly enjoys working with the wonderful Kim community. Her teaching experience spans Kindergarten through university level . She earned both her doctorate and master’s degrees in Educational Leadership from UNLV, her bachelor’s degree in Social Science from UCI, and her teaching credential from CSUF.
PERSONAL
Dr. Zaki was born in Cairo, Egypt, and her family moved back to the U.S. when she was very young. She grew up Southern California, where many family members still reside. Her family remains very close and they visit each other frequently. Dr. Zaki’s parents and her two brothers are teachers, so they spend a lot of time talking about education. She truly values all education, and strongly encourages others to pursue lifelong learning opportunities. She has a 7 year-old daughter and a 4 year-old son.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoys reading, traveling, exercising, bargain shopping, and an occasional giant bowl of popcorn.

Greetings Frank Kim Elementary School Learning Community! Welcome to the 2008-09 school year! Frank Kim Elementary School faculty and staff will challenge, motivate, and nurture our EXPLORERS as they get excited about school, excel academically, and experience success. family support is equally critical to success: expect great things of our children and they will meet our expectations!

Each student and parent/guardian will receive a copy of our Student-Family Handbook. Please read and discuss each section of it with your child. Just like at home, when students understand expectations for conduct, they are very likely to meet those expectations.

We welcome and encourage family involvement. This year, we have a number of exciting activities planned for students and families, some of which include:
