Our science fair, which is held every year, offers students an opportunity to display their own work and findings in the field of science. There are four categories in which to choose from:
Science Experiment
A classic science experiment is based on the scientific method in which we ask a question, collect information, form a hypothesis, test the hypothesis, observe and record data, finally drawing a conclusion.
Scientific Collections
May include things such as rock or seashell collections.
Technological Design/Inventions
An invention could be anything that solves a problem, such as a bird seed catcher.
Observation History
Science observation history may include a study of the moon phases or plant growth.

The 2004 Kim Science Fair will be held on February 24-25, 2004. Projects will be set up in the multipurpose room after lunch on Tuesday, February 24. The judging will be done on that evening. Public viewing of projects will be Wednesday, February 25 between 6-7pm.

Students will be asked to take home their projects at the end of the public viewing. Students participating in the fair need to bring their project to their regular classroom the morning of Tuesday, February 24th. There will be a time designated after lunch for grade levels to come and set their projects up.

Please be reminded that the school is not responsible for damaged or stolen items, models, or collections students may bring to go along with their science project display board. We encourage taking pictures of experiments or collections to attach to the display board rather than bringing them in for display.

More information about this year's science fair can be found at the Southern Nevada Regional Science and Engineering Fair website.

In addition to our regular science fair, this year we will have a muti-media science fair that can be viewed from our web page. In this fair, classrooms at each grade level voluntarily participate in a classroom science project. The class project is then put into a slide show format that can be viewed on the web by students, family members and faculty.
