Welcome! Kitty McDonough Ward Elementary School, which opened in August 2006, is one of the few Empowerment Schools in the Clark County School District. Kitty Ward is located in the northwest area of Las Vegas.

The Kitty Ward Fall Academy Showcase, presented on October 14, featured outstanding student-created performances in music, theatre, art, physical education, and computer-generated musical composition.
Not only were student performance skills evident, but because the students actually composed the songs, wrote the lyrics, choreographed the dance routines etc., the highest levels of cognition were tapped and students were inspired to create, not merely instructed to perform.
Congratulations on a job well done. Kitty Ward is indeed "Great and Gettin' Greater!"
Lied Discovery Children's Museum Teacher of the Month
Beginning in 2010, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum is proud to recognize Southern Nevada educators with its Teacher of the Month award!
Each month, the museum will honor an elementary school teacher nominated by the community. The winning teacher will receive a certificate, a one-year museum membership for his or her family and one free field trip to the museum for one class at his or her school.
