Back to School Celebration
Most schools celebrate the completion of the school year only, but at Kitty Ward Elementary we also take the time to celebrate the beginning of the new school year and another exciting year of learning!
The students began by lining up on the sunshine area on the playground. They lined up to the sound of music and then the morning opening exercise. Mrs. Douglass read them the story, Oh the Places You'll Go, by Dr. Suess. Then each student sent off a green, white, or blue balloon into the sky to symbolize our new flight into the new school year of learning... and the places we'll go!
One single yellow balloon was sent soaring into the sky in honor of our nation's heroes - our service men and women, our police officers, our firemen, our doctors, and nurses.
