PLEASE EXCUSE MY CHILD...
If your child is absent from school, you have
three days to turn in a note to the attendance office in order to have the
absence excused. The school may only excuse your child's absence if he/she
is mentally or physically unable to attend school. (NRS 392.130)
Your child will turn in his/her note to the Attendance Clerk located in the
cafeteria before school.
Once a student exceeds
10 unapproved absences per semester, he/she will lose credit, regardless of
what grade they may be earning.
The note must include
the following:
-Your child's complete name and student number
-The date your child was absent
-Reason your child was absent
-Parent/Guardian signature
**You may not phone in an excuse**
HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ATTENDANCE?
You will receive attendance notifications in
the mail for both excused and unexcused absences. You may not call the school
to verify absences. Due to the confidentiality of student information (Regulation
CCSD 5125.1, Family Education Rights of Privacy Act of 1974), Molasky JHS
will not release or disclose information from a student's educational/attendance
record by telephone, as we are unable to ascertain the identity of the caller.
The parent/guardian must go to the office and present proper identification
(valid picture ID, driver's license, military ID) prior to any information
being given. |
