Monaco's Highlights
Our school has established itself as a place where students learn, teachers care and where parents can get help when in need. While only six years old, Monaco Middle School currently has (10) active school-community partners, (25) site-based interventions for students and parents, and numerous grants to support the wide range of school activities offered to students. The most recent awards/honors received include:
- Special recognition student performances (Annual Choir Festival, Jazz Band, and Advanced Orchestra, Mariachi and Band awards).
- Regular family activities, Family Literacy Nights, Adult Education classes and other parent services.
- Family Resource Center (food, shelter, job referrals, community referrals) for families and youth by The Salvation Army.
- Read 180 Suite program for increasing reading performance.
- Extensive use of technology to support student learning (software, hardware and other devices).
- High Quality Sheltered Instruction for improving student achievement.
- Intensive English Language Program for English Language Learners.
- Read Right Systems program for increasing reading performance.
- Gear Up program for promoting college readiness.
- Dropout Prevention program with Nevada Partners.
- School-wide incentives for literacy skills improvement.
- College Culture Initiative.
- Implementation of Character Education (No Place For Hate).
