 Dear Parents,

It has been a great first trimester. Thanks to all of you who have attended schoolwide programs such as Open House, Spaghetti Night, and Lunch in the Park. Our focus during the first trimester has been completing the School Improvement Plan, implementing our new math program, and Thinking Maps. We continue to participate in teacher training to increase our skills in teaching our new programs. At the end of the trimester (late November), students will take the First Interim Assessments in reading, language arts, and math. These tests will tell us how well students have masteredthe curriculum this trimester. Teachers will use results from these assessments to strengthen their instruction and identify students' areas of strength and weakness. Information regarding your child's progress will be shared with you in December during Parent Conference Week.

Please continue to support your child's education by staying involved in our schoolwide activities and by visiting your child's classroom. Mountain View is a great place to learn.
