Standard Student Attire

Joseph Neal has implemented a mandatory Standard Student Attire Policy for the 2009-2010 school year.

The basic colors of khaki, navy, and white will be required. Additionally, Joseph Neal Elementary School will have red as the optional solid color only for shirts/blouses, and sweaters; navy-red plaid as the optional pattern only for skirts/skorts, jumpers/dresses and ties. Sweatshirts/sweatsuits are permitted to be worn on P.E. days only in basic solid colors (no red) and brand logos are not permitted.

·         Pants/shorts/capris in navy and khaki

·         No blue jeans or denim pants

·         Skirts/skorts/jumpers/dresses in navy, khaki, and approved plaid  (no blue jean material)

·         Sweaters in navy, white, khaki or red, solid only (no pattern, no words) with or without school logo, worn over approved shirts

·         Blouses/shirts in navy, white, and khaki or red, solid only (no pattern, no words) with or without school logo, long- or short-sleeved, with collars

·         Sweat suits in navy, solid only (no pattern, no words) with or without school logo on P.E. days only 

 
  • In cold weather, sweaters in navy, white, khaki, or red may be worn in the classroom. Coats, jackets, scarves, and gloves of any color may be worn outside but must be removed upon entering the classroom.
  • In cold weather, hooded, zip up sweatshirts in navy, white, or red may only be worn in place of a sweater.
  • All shirts must have a collar. Turtlenecks are permitted.

  • In cold weather, long sleeved shirts and turtlenecks may be worn under approved short sleeved shirts with collars.
  • In cold weather, sweat suits are worn on PE days only.
  • All clothes must be sized to fit. Oversized polo shirts are not permitted. No sagging of pants or shorts are permitted.
  • All clothing (tops and bottoms) must be plain and solid in color with no designs, studs, slogans, patches, or wording.
  • Bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers) must be hemmed, not frayed and at least fingertip length. Leggings and footless tights may not be worn under skirts.
