Attention Parents!

For the next 11 months, parking at the leisure center will be altered due to construction materials and equipment; thus, effecting the dropoff and pickup of students at the leisure center. Please plan accordingly.

 

 

Rogich School-Wide Vocabulary

This year, Rogich MS will provide a school-wide vocabulary program to increase students' vocabulary development. A weekly list of vocabulary will be used and modeled by all teachers in all academic disciplines. The weekly word list can be found on our STUDENTS PAGE.

Order Your Yearbook Early and Save!

Josten Yearbook

Ms. Gigi McCombe and her talented yearbook class will be hard at work this year in creating the latest edition of our much acclaimed Rough Rider Yearbook.

The earlier you purchase, the more you save. Prices are: $35.00 until September 30, 2009; $40.00 until December 31, 2009; $45.00 until May 1, 2010; After May 1 - $50.00.

All 8th grade ads are due by December 31, 2009. Please see the online pricing sheet and/or contact Ms. McCombe if you wish to purchase an ad for your student.

Parents may also purchase their child's yearbook or 8th grade ad online at no additional cost HERE!

The 2009-2010 yearbook will be distributed to students on Friday, May 21, 2010.

Rogich Middle School Welcomes West Career and Technical Academy to the Summerlin Community

The West Career and Technical Academy will open in August of 2010 with ninth and tenth graders only. In that year approximately 675 students will attend this school. By the time the academy houses twelfth graders, approximately 1350 students will attend.

Academy students will have many advantages available to them. They include the following:

The ten programs that will be offered at West CTA include:

 

Biotechnology (study of cells, DNA, disease - partnering with Nevada Cancer Institute)

Veterinary and Medical Sciences (prepares for pre-med., pharmacy, and other professional study)

Nursing

Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine

Environmental Science (a hands-on program with many field trips - Red Rock, mountains, Lake Mead, CA for marine science, etc.)

Business Management (traditional methods with a focus on "green" business practices)

Health Administration (the people that run the hospitals, medical centers, and maintain medical records)

Computer Animation

Management Information Systems (one of the highest demands and best paid - a shortage at hotels in Las Vegas)

Civil Engineering (with a focus on the environment - solar, wind, electrical grids, high speed transportation, etc.)
