On-Line and Paper applications will be accepted throughout the year. Parents are invited to use school computers to do this and they may come in to the main office any day. Income information for your family is required to complete the application. Also needed: names/birthdates, school ID numbers of all family members living in the household. One application covers all children in a family, no matter how many different schools they attend.
Student Dress Code
Look under the "Student" tab in the Student Handbook.
The Nevada Department of Education has launched a Web Page for information regarding the Nevada Transition to the Common Core State Standards. This information is available at: https://bighorn.doe.nv.gov/sites/CommonCore/default.aspx
This is a reminder to students and a notification to parents that students do not have permission to leave campus to roam the neighborhood, make a trip to 7-11, or hang out at the Rafael Rivera Park after school.
Students have again been reminded of the dangers of leaving campus instead of attending after-school activities or tutoring as they have told their parents. Reports of leaving books, backpacks and other belongings in the bushes surrounding the bus parking lot have come come to the attention of school officials.
Students are being caught returning from area parks to catch rides home from parents or on the late bus. Parents believe their children are in tutoring when that is NOT the case.
No student has permission to violate this closed campus policy
and RPCs will be given to violators.
The Standard Student Attire dress code promotes positive dress habits required for success in school and in future employment. Facial jewelry including eyebrow piercing, tongue piercing, and other piercings through the nose, cheek, chin and other body parts is not permitted. Tattoos, drawings, stickers, tape covering piercings and other distracting, disruptive, suggestive, or socially inappropriate fads or styles that are generally in poor taste will cause disciplinary action to be taken. Likewise, ill-fitting clothing (often used to conceal weapons or like items) and sagging pants ( a jail house status symbol ) will not be tolerated.
