The Clark County School District will provide bus transportation for students that live beyond a determined 2 mile distance from the school. Registration of a NEW student to Schofield MS will include information regarding your request for this service. Call 799-8111 for additional information.

Each year the Clark County Department of Public Works evaluates traffic and pedestrian safety plan maps for middle schools located within the unincorporated areas of the County. These maps, called Safe Route to School maps, identify locations of traffic control facilities and devices, allowing parents/guardians to select a safe route to school for their students. The Clark County Health District will be at the three Back to School Fairs providing immunizations:
Meadows Mall - Saturday, August 14, 2010, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Boulevard Mall - Saturday, August 21, 2010, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Galleria at Sunset - Saturday, August 28, 2010, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Administrative fees for shots range from $16-$25. Some shots may have other fees. Parents/guardians will need to bring their child's shot records and Medicaid or Nevada CheckUp card, if applicable. Culinary insurance is accepted for children through the age of 18.
For other locations where Clark County Health District staff will be, parents can call 759-0850 or go to the Ravenholt, East Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas Public Health Centers. 2009-2010 Common Mathematics Semester Assessments
The Clark County School District will be administering a Common Mathematics Semester Assessment for all first semester Pre-Algebra 8, Algebra 1 and Algebra 1H mathematics classes.

BE KIND - The Josh Stevens Foundation
Schofield Middle School is beginning a NEW program called "BE KIND," co-sponsored by The Josh Stevens Foundation.
In order to promote kindness and prevent bullying, Schofield is implementing this kindness program. All teachers and staff will be watching for students who display random acts of kindness. When caught, these students will receive one of the "You've Been Caught Being Kind" cards. These cards contain the special "Josh Stevens Foundation" bracelet, a treat gift card and the inspirational information about being kind. These students will also receive the RED "Be Kind" T-shirt, telling all that see it that they are spreading kindness in the Schofield MS community. Schofield wants to honor students for their kindness and inspiration to other students.You Been Caught Being Kind" tri-fold gift cards
As part of this special group of "Be Kind" students:
1. These awesome students may get to appear on the Schofield News.
2. When wearing any Be Kind T-shirt, they will get to go to the front of the lunch line.
3. On announced days, they will be allowed to leave class early to go to lunch.
4. Will be entered into a special drawing to win a $250 Scholarship-Bond for College.
5. And other special incentives when announced.
A BLUE "Be Kind" T-shirt will be sold at the student store. A student wearing a BLUE "Be Kind" T-shirt, helping to spread the kindness revolution to our Schofield community, will also receive the lunchroom privileges.

pertussis (whooping cough).

Sixth grade students will be introduced to the Nevada
Career Information System Jr.(NCIS Jr.). This web site
is designed to provide extensive career information for
students as they explore their interests/options for their
future.
After exploring various careers, students have
had an opportunity to use the new CCSD Online Academic
Plan at: http://eduplan.ccsd.net Students
complete the online academic plan and will submit that
information online. Students and their families can
review and revise their academic plans online anytime
as interest and goals change .

Parents Still Make the Difference
is a newsletter that has been funded by the Clark County
School District and will be posted monthly in both English
and Spanish. Schofield families may print the publication
for their home use only.

The Wings
of the Flying Tiger |
The Wings of the Flying Tiger is our schools bi-monthly
newsletter. Find information about the many activities
our students engage in it achool. See the list of top
student scholars in the Straight A, A-B Honor, Perfect
Attendance, and Straight O Citizenship rolls. A letter
from the principal begins all of our newsletters and the
up-and-coming events calendar make a great finish to the
information provided.

Student Planner |
This booklet includes: important school contact telephone
numbers, locker rules and use information, an area where
your child can write the daily schedule, school behavior
rules in the classroom, gym, and cafeteria, counselor
information, award programs, attendance policy, discipline
rules, and the dress code policy. Click on the Jack Lund
Schofield Student Planner link above to view its information.
Any planner can help your child become organized and
communicate. The planner includes a calendar that the
student can use to record daily assignments and messages
to and from home.
The first student planner is provided to our students at no charge. Students are required to keep it current and use it daily for all of their classes.

Store Supplies |
The student store is located in the cafeteria and is
open every day during all lunch periods. Student may purchase
a variety of items including pens and pencils, notebooks,
paper, report covers, P.E. clothing, student planner,

Voluntary Statement |
The JLS-19 Voluntary Statement is provided in the Deans'
office for a student to write information regarding an
incident that involves them or an incident they witnessed.
Should your child wish to write the statement at home,
