Elizabeth Wilhelm was a resident of Clark County for 21 years. During that time she earned 4 different nursing degrees from UNLV. She was a nurse at Sunrise Hospital and for the Red Cross. After a few years she decided to become a school nurse, because she enjoyed working with children. During her time as a school nurse, she not only assisted many students, but she also assisted other nurses in becoming proficient at their occupations. Outside of the school setting, she helped students with Boy Scouts and YMCA camps. She also assisted the governor of Nevada by ensuring that children who were abused or neglected were taken care of. In her personal life, Mrs. Wilhelm was married with 3 sons and had three grandchildren. Mrs. Wilhelm passed away in 1990. It is because of her caring, sharing, dedication, and achievements that our school was named in her honor in 1996.
