The students at Wilhelm participate in the Passport to Great Education program, which provides students the opportunity to receive awards if they are caught exhibiting one of the monthly character traits promoted within our school. At Wilhelm we develop the core academic skills students need to be successful. However, we also believe it is our mission to develop the whole child and that character building is a key component to achieving this mission.
Students in grades 1st-5th participate in an uninterrupted 90 minute reading block with a focus on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Students in 2nd - 4th grade requiring additional support in reading participate in a reading intervention program designed to accelerate student learning. The ELL and Literacy Specialist also provide additional support to students.
