In an effort to support student learning we will involve parents and community members as an integral part of the education process at Elaine Wynn Elementary School. The Home/School Communication Cadre, made up of a group of staff members, has established the following goals:

1. To provide parents with educational techniques and strategies to work with their children
2. To collaborate with our community resources
3. To provide topics that deal with social issues when appropriate (for example: Gang awareness, parenting classes)

These goals are accomplished through our Parent Institute, which is open to all parents. Normally the activities are held monthly at 9:15am at Elaine Wynn Elementary School. There is no fee for the Parent Institutes. Usually children are welcomed, however some topics are inappropriate for children.

• Parenting Classes
• Gang Awareness Presentation
• Channel 10 Nutrition and Exercise Class
• various Family Nights.
